Resource Centre within the Chisinau Municipal Directorate for Children’s Rights’ Protection

Goal:
To setup, by the end of 2004, a sustainable structure for training and resources for professionals and decision makers in the field of child protection within the Municipal Directorate for Children’s Rights’ Protection (MDCRP).

Objectives:
- To support the MDCRP in the setup of the Resource and Training Centre;
- To offer continuous training opportunities for practitioners and decision makers, by creating a local team of trainers and developing the training modules;
- To build capacities of the Centre’s team in researching, monitoring and evaluation of services for children and families, and in the dissemination of best practice.

Beneficiaries:
- professionals and decision makers, working in the field of child protection, other specialists working in relevant areas, such as police, medicine, education, as well as interested persons from all areas of the country, as direct beneficiaries;
- families and children of social services beneficiaries, as indirect beneficiaries.

Expected outcomes
- Resource and Training Center launched and fully operational;
- Training practices and opportunities piloted by different donors and reviewed;
- Methodological training basis developed;
- Database of local trainers developed;
- Database of training needs developed;
- Training program/modules developed;
- Annual development plans of the team in place;
- Monitoring and evaluation services developed.

Achievements
The Resource Centre was set up, taken over, and integrated in the structure of the MDCRP. Up to present, over 1000 specialists and professionals benefited from training and resources of the Centre.
