Goal:
Prevention of child separation from family, by providing a complex of social services in Tiraspol.
Objectives:
1. Set up Tiraspol family counseling center and integrate it in the local services system, by the end of 2009;
2. Set up a set of high-quality services and provide them to children and families in difficulty, by the end of 2009.
Beneficiaries:
- children at risk of abandonment / separation from parents;
- children-victims of abuse and violence;
- families in difficulty.
Expected outcomes:
- Family Counseling Center set up by the end of 2005, and fully operational, providing counseling services, by the end of 2006;
- Family Counseling Center integrated in the system of services in the field of childcare, by the end of 2009;
- A team of specialists offer quality services, among which social support and psychological, psychotherapeutic, and legal counseling to children and families in difficulty;
- Efficient mechanisms of collaboration with other agencies established by the end of 2007;
- Mechanism of monitoring and evaluation of delivered services developed and fully operational by the end of 2006.
Achievements:
The Family Counseling Center was officially launched at the end of 2005, and it currently delivers family support services and psychological, psychotherapeutic, and legal counseling services. 700 children and 300 parents were offered services within the center. An efficient referral mechanism for risk-of-abandonment, institutionalization, and abuse cases was set up within the center, in collaboration with the local administration and NGOs.
