Beginning with May, current year, EveryChild Moldova supported by UNICEF is launching a new project in reforming residential child care system in the Republic of Moldova with a special regard for auxiliary schools for children with special educational needs.
A new training module
In January, 2010 EveryChild Moldova have trained around 100 local public authority representatives: such as social assistants, specialists in the aged people problems and child’ rights protection, in psycho-social counseling and education, as well as local NGO leaders and volunteers from 10 rural and urban areas of the country.
Council of Europe calls for deinstitutionalisation of children with disabilities
[STRASBOURG, 4 February 2010] – The Committee of Ministers has adopted a text recommending that Member States no longer place children with disabilities in institutional care and instead give preference to community living.

Opening of the Placement Centre for Children in Difficulty in Cahul
The old residential school of Cahul has been transformed into a model placement Centre for children in difficultyOver 300 thousand lei was donated by people of good will from Moldova to reorganize the residential school.On Monday, October 12, 2009, the Placement Centre for children in difficulty was launched in Cahul, within the former residential school.
